Sandra "Sandy" Caroline DeVos
Sandy was born on August 16, 1946 at Mercer Hospital in Trenton, New Jersey to the late Howard and Dorothy (Nolan) Phillips and she passed away on hospice at her daughter's home on Sunday May 10, 2026. She was 79 and a resident of Gardners, Pennsylvania.
She was a kind and gentle soul who carried the love of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, in all she did. She shared that love freely through her devotion to family and friends, her beautiful and graceful piano playing, her thoughtful greeting cards sent to many she kept in prayer, and her willingness to share Gospel tracts with the beauty and compassion within her heart to those who helped her throughout her day.
She graduated in 1968 from Shelton College in Cape May, New Jersey, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree. After college, she became a member of Covenant Bible Church in North Cape May, New Jersey where she played the piano and organ. For a time, she played the piano at Wednesday evening prayer services for Bible Baptist Church in Shiremanstown, PA and in the late 90s played the piano for Sunday services at Carlisle Reformed Presbyterian Church where she also faithfully spent her final years praising her Lord with this congregation.
Surviving is her son Mark DeVos and daughter Sharon DeVos, grandchildren Isaiah Shrawder and Rashon Shrawder (Jamie) and great grandchildren Ariana Shrawder, Makenna Shrawder and Baylee Shrawder along with her only sibling Patricia Parkes.
She was preceded in death by her husband William DeVos and daughter Sarah DeVos.
