ROYAL S. DONIVAN
Royal S. Donivan, 85, of Carlisle, died Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at home.
Born August 27, 1925 in Breezewood, Pa, he was a son of the late Jacob S. and Lillie Mae (Ward) Donivan.
Mr. Donivan had retired from Roadway Express in 1983, where he was employed as a mechanic.
He had previously worked for Wilson Express as a truck driver.
During WW II he was an electrician at the Baltimore Shipyards.
He was a member of St. Stephen Lutheran Church, New Kingstown, Pa.
He was preceded in death by three brothers: Delmar, Carl and Jay and four sisters: Helen DIckens, Iva Grub, Mabel Witt and Virginia Knight.
Surviving are his wife: Louise (Judy) Donivan; a son: Lynford K. Donivan (Sandy) of Carlisle; a daughter: Cathy S. Waters of Carlisle; a grand daughter: Rebekah Amelia Waters of Bloserville; five sisters: Lena Shirley of Ligonier, Eleanor Orr of Everett; Mildred Williams of Breezewood; Betty Cordell (Paul) and Shirley Kile, both of Hagerstown, MD; a sister-in-law: Virginia Judy of Everett; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 9, 2011 from the Ronan Funeral Home, 255 York Road, Carlisle, with the Rev. Donald Seiple officiating. Viewing will be at the funeral home on Monday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday in Mt. Pleasant Lutheran Cemetery, Breezewood.
