ROMAYNE M.  SHANK

Romayne M. Shank, 98, of Carlisle, passed away January 12, 2026 at home.

Born March 14,1927 in Carlisle, she was the daughter of the late Albert B. and Stella (Brickner) Ilgentfitz. She was the widow of George H. Shank, who passed in 2020.

She was a graduate of Carlisle High School Class of 1944. Romayne retired from the PA Dept. of Transportation in 1989.

A member of Grace Baptist Church, Carlisle, she was also involved with the Claremont Auxiliary. She was a former owner, along with her husband of The Village Food Market and the Punt and Shank Food Market.

Surviving are 3 sons: Gary L. (Patricia), Dennis K. (Susan) and Jeffrey C (Marcia), and daughter in law Dolores Shank, all of Carlisle. Also surviving are grandchildren: Kirby, Jill, Todd, Christopher, Jamey, Amy, Jon, Molly and Erica, 14 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by a son: Scott M. Shank.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, January 16, 2026 at Grace Baptist Church, 777 W. North St. Carlisle with Rev. Jeff Oliver, officiating. Burial will follow in Letort Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until time of service.
