RAY L. JACOBY
Ray L. Jacoby, 85, of Carlisle, passed away peacefully at home on December 17, 2025. He was born tot he late Lester and Minnie Jacoby (Nee Bistline).
Ray was employed as a carpenter for more than 40 years. He then worked for several years as a Maintenance Manager at the Embers Convention Center. Ray enjoyed working with tools, and during his career, he built numerous residential and commercial buildings in various states.
Ray will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Some of Ray’s most cherished moments were phone calls and visits from his daughters.
Roy is survived by his wife Ruth and two daughters, Natalie Jacoby of Pittsburgh and Darlene Shughart (Timothy L.) of Carlisle, as well as one granddaughter, Roxanne Carter (Mark Mangini and one great granddaughter, Sylvia June Mangini. He is also survived by two ste-grandchldren, Timothey L. Shughart (Tasha) of Carlisle and Heather Steese (Asa) of Middleburg;a dn three step-great grandchildren, Austin Steese, Dylan Steese, and Judson Shughart.
Ray was one of seven siblings and is survived by two sisters, Jane Richard (Paul), and Nancy Capshaw; and two brothers, William Jacoby (Sarah) and Carroll (Hank) Jacoby (Dory). He is also survived by his sisers-in-law Debbie Fager, Mary Adams (John), Martha Starner, Esther Keeney and brother-in-law Jim Bittinger (Theresa) and Paul Bittinger. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in deathly one sister, Dorothy Negley and one brother, Gary Hoyaux.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to Grace Hospital Care for the loving care and support they provided to Ray and the family.
The family appreciates your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Private visitation will be held for family. Private burial will be held in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens.
