PAUL O. CHANDLER

Paul “Pere” O. Chandler, 87, of Carlisle, passed away on August 7, 2026 at UPMC Carlisle.

Born August 2, 1938 in Bath, ME, he was the son of the late Ellsworth and Elthea (Warner) Chandler.

He was a graduate of Morse High School in Bath, ME. Immediately after graduation he enlisted in the US Air Force.

Mr. Chandler was retired from the U S Air Force with 21 years of service. He was stationed at the following bases: McChord, Perrin, Maxwell, Bolling, Elmendorf and Wiesbaden.

Paul was then employed in civil service for 21 years followed by being employed at EDS for another 10 years before retiring. He formed close bonds with a number of his co-workers during his career.c

He was a member of American Legion Post 101, the Circle Club, and Eagles Aerie #1299, all of Carlisle as well as the Mechanicsburg Club.

His favorite pastimes included grocery shopping, traveling back to his home state of ME, binge watching movies and his favorite shows, playing card games, eating sweets, and most of all, spending time with the ones he loved. He loved being the man behind the camera, capturing family moments to be forever treasured.

He was of the Catholic faith.

Surviving are his wife: Evelyn (Doiron) Chandler, his daughter Renee Chandler and her spouse Robin White of Mineral VA. He is also survived by a brother, Robert Chandler of Bath, ME, a granddaughter, Alicia Chandler, a grandson Gunnar Chandler, great grandson Alexander Chandler and four sisters-in-law, Louise Prather, Esther Richard, Laurette Favor and Theresa Smith as well as several cherished nieces and nephews.

He was preceded ind death by a son, Buel “Bo” Chandler in 2024.
