MARY GAYLE (MCELROY) COOK

Mary Gayle (McElroy) Cook, 94, of Tampa, FL, Omaha, NE and Carlisle, PA died Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013 in the Fairway Oaks Center, Tampa.

Born Nov. 7, 1919 in Hopedale, OH, she was a daughter of the late George and Hattie Mildred (Scott) McElroy.  She was the widow of Louis A. Cook, who died Dec 31, 2005.  They were married on Jan. 29, 1945 in Alliance, OH.  They spent the early years of the marriage in Butler, PA.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Mechanicsburg.

She was preceded in death by five siblings:  Donald McElroy, Robert McElroy, Louella McElroy Gillesspie, James Merle McElroy and Howard McElroy.

Surviving are two daughters:  Linda (Gary) Shuey of Carlisle, PA; Coleen (John) Klecic of Tampa; three grandsons:  Evan (Ingrid) Shuey of Duncannon, PA; Christopher (Christy) Klecic of Omaha, NE; Kerry Klecic of Tampa, FL;  a great grandson:  Kyle John Klecic of Omaha, NE; one sister:  Ruth McElroy Pears of Columbus, OH.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A. M. Saturday, Nov 30, 2013    from the Ronan Funeral Home, 255 York Road, Carlisle, PA.  Visitation will be at the funeral home on  Saturday    from 10:00 A. M.    until time of service.  Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens, York, PA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to SANCS (Sino American Nonprofit Cooperative Services), an orphanage in Henan Province, Peoples Republic of China.
