MARIAN LYONS

Marion Lyons, 87, of Carlisle, died Monday, Oct. 3, 2011 in the Thornwald Home, Carlisle.

Born Dec. 6, 1923 in Landisburg, Pa, she was a daughter of the late William Edwin and Caroline (Egolf) Nace and was the widow of Meade G. Lyons, who died March 31, 2010.

Mrs. Lyons was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church, Carlisle, where for many years she was in charge of the Fellowship Committee.  She had also been a member of the Rebekah Lodge and had served as a Cub Scout Den Mother.

She was retired from the former Ships Parts Control Center, Mechancisburg, where she was a payroll clerk.  She had also worked at the former Reeves-Hoffman in Carlisle and at the State Hospital in Harrisburg.

Surviving are her daughter:  Linda Krepps ( and husband Robert) of Ottowa, IL, her son:  Dennis Lyons of Great Mills, MD; a sister:  Virginia Mumper of Carlisle; two grandchildren:  Collin Krepps of Catonsville, MD and Ashley Krepps of Ottowa, IL. and a great grandson:  Wyatt Lewis Krepps.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Oct. 8, 2011 at 11:00 A. M. from First United Church of Christ, 30 N. Pitt St., Carlisle with the Rev. Stephanie Hasenbrink officiating.  Burial will be in Westminster Memorial Gardens, Carlisle.  Viewing will be at her church on Saturday from   10:30 A. M. until time of services.
