LEROY F. BISHOP

Leroy F. Bishop, 78, of Carlisle, died Thursday, April 14, 2011 in Carlisle Regional Medical Center.

Born August 14, 1932 in Carlisle, he was a son of the late Herman and Minerva (Moore) Bishop.

Mr. Bishop was a US Air Force Veteran of the Korean War.  He had worked at ABF and Capitol Products and retired from Ralston-Purina with 20 years of service.

He was preceded in death by a brother:  Eugene; three sisters:  Kathleen Finkenbinder, Pauline Barrick and Winifred Bishop and a grandson, Nathan Lee Marstellar.

Surviving are his wife of 52 years:  Beverly A. (Gorsuch) Bishop; four daughters:  Tammy Bishop of Carlisle   ; Deborah Anderson ( and husband Greg D. ) of Texas; Christine Marstellar

( and husband John) of  Stewartstown ; and Kathryn Glessner ( and her companion John Kendall) of Newville; a brother:  Marlin Bishop of Florida;  five granddaughters; one grandson; five great granddaughters and 3 great grandsons and a step grandson:  Jonathan Fystro of Illinois.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 19, 2011 from the Ronan Funeral Home, 255 York Road, Carlisle, with the Rev. Lisa Klinger, Pastor of St. Mary’s United Methodist Church, officiating.  Burial, with military honors by the Cumberland County Honor Guard, will be in Westminster Memorial Gardens.  Viewing will be at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10-11 a.m.
