KAREN R. CARROLL

Karen R. Carroll,74, of Carlisle, passed away on Tuesday, July 1, 2025 at UPMC Osteopathic Hospital, Harrisburg.

Born August 27,1950 in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Jean (Carney) Kramer.

Karen retired from the Commonwealth of PA, Department of Public Welfare, where she finished her career as an Administrative Law Judge. During retirement, she worked the polls in West Pennsboro Twp.

She was an excellent cook and baker. As a member of the National Parks Association, Karen enjoyed the outdoors and traveling. She also enjoyed gardening, reading, painting, and doing jigsaw puzzles, which she would frame.

Karen was a member of the American Motorcycle Association, Harley Owners Group, Laureldale Athletic Association, and the Carlisle Moose Lodge #761. She and her husband looked forward to traveling to Martinsville, VA for the NASCAR races twice a year. A huge music lover, she had a vast collection of CDs, vinyl albums, and digital music. She also had an extensive teapot collection and loved drinking tea.

Karen was a very loving and generous person, who always found the good in everyone. Karen loved people, especially her family.

Karen was preceded in death by her grandson, Nathan; brother, David Kramer; sister, Kathryn Kunkelman; and father-in-law, Col (Ret) Anthony Carroll.

Surviving are her husband of 40 years, Daniel Carroll; son, Damon Kline and his wife, Cynthia, of Carlisle; daughter, Jennifer Russell, of Carlisle. Also surviving are her sister, Bonnie Favinger, and her husband, Gary, of Pottsville; brother, Kenneth Kramer, of Reading; sister-in-law, Muriel Kramer, of Reading; mother-in-law, Virginia Carroll, of Carlisle; grandchildren, Riley, Tyler, Emma, Evelyn, and Gavin; as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Laureldale Athletic Association, 1610 Nolan St. Reading on July 27th, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. for friends and family.
