GARY E. HUDSON

Gary Eugene Hudson, 65, of Rock Cave, WV, lost his battle with cancer on Friday, March 7, 2014 in Bulverde, TX.

Born Feb., 6, 1949 in Charleston, WV he was the son of Garrett and Rose (Thaxton) Hudson of St. Albans, WV.

Gary was a Vietnam veteran who served his country well, having received the Bronze Star Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Expert Marksman Badge (M16) and the Sharpshooter Badge (M14).  He was also a retired truck driver having worked for  Carolina Freight and ABF.

Gary and his beloved wife, Connie were “snowbirds” between Rock Cave, WV and Bulverde, TX.

He was a member of Rock Cave Baptist Church  and while in Texas was a member of The Little Rock Chapel.

An avid deer hunter, he also loved his four wheeler.

Surviving in addition to his parents are his wife:  Connie (Moody) Hudson; two sons:  Michael Hudson and Jerry Hudson (and wife Kimberley) both of Carlisle, Pa; two step sons:  Brian Ehrhart (and companion Sandy Binder) and Justin Ehrhart (and fiancé’ Misty Forry), both of York Haven, Pa; three step daughters;  Loana Giliba of Colorado; Beth Manrique (and husband George) of Converse, Tx; Toleia Haecker (and husband Gary) of Bulverde, Tx; two brothers:  Mark and Dennis Hudson of St. Albans, WV; two sisters;  Rita Ennis (and husband Delmar) of St. Albans, WV and Debbie Cousins of Charleston, WV; 10 grandchildren:  Ashley, Daniel and RaeAnne  Hudson of Carlisle; Tristan and Matthew Ehrhart of South Carolina; Shannon Kemper of Texas and Sheila Anderson(and husband John) serving with the US Air Force in England; Travis and Tyler Haecker of Bulverde; Jessica Grubb (and husband Billy) of Bulverde, Tx;.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A. M. on  Saturday, March 15, 2014  from the Ronan Funeral Home, 255 York Road, Carlisle, Pa with the Rev. William E. Pipp officiating.  Burial with military honors will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens, York, Pa.  Viewing will be  Saturday from 9:00 A. M. until time of service  at the funeral home.
