Frances Wilcox

August 14, 1917 — August 3, 2011

CARLISLE - Frances Marie Anderson Wilcox was born in Oil City, PA. on
August 14, 1917, to Samuel W. Anderson and Florence Cornell Anderson.
Leaving us for a home in heaven on August 3, 2011, Frances is absent
from the body and present with the Lord.
She was an accomplished organist and pianist and used her talents
to the glory of God. She was the "wind beneath the wings" of her
husband as they ministered together for 46 years in churches in
Pennsylvania, Maryland, New York and New Jersey. She served many
functions for the church family in addition to her role as pastor's
wife; she was music director, secretary, teacher, custodian and cook.
She possessed the gift of hospitality and enjoyed entertaining friends
and family.
She was a virtuous Mother and took great pride in her three sons
and only daughter. She was a strong woman of faith and did many things
without recognition or fanfare.
After leaving full time ministry, she served with her husband as
camp caretaker and cook in Hughesville, PA for 14 years. She served as
guest organist in several area churches while living in Hughesville,
until in 2004 she retired, along with her husband, to Chapel Pointe
Retirement Community in Carlisle, Pa.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas A. Wilcox, with whom she
would have celebrated 75 years of marriage on August 4, 2011. She is
also survived by son, Alden Thomas, South Carolina, son, Samuel A.,
husband of Cynthia Wolf Wilcox, Lancaster, Pa. and daughter, Rebecca
Wilcox Lehmann, Elizabethtown, Pa; and a  sister, Esther Patterson,
Shell Point Village, Florida. She also leaves a heritage of seven
grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first born son, Keith C. Wilcox,
Sr, in October 2004 and her son-in-law, Klaus Lehmann, in April 2011.
