EVA E. REBER

Eva E. Reber, 82, of Carlisle, died Wednesday, December 26, 2012 in the Church of God Home, Carlisle.  She was born on August 17, 1930, in Hohlen, Czechoslovakia, daughter of the late Wenzel and Emilie (Pillat) Guerth.

As a teenager, her family moved to Germany, where she later met and married her ex-husband who was stationed there in the Army.  They then lived in California, Ethiopia, Kansas and New Jersey, before settling in Carlisle in 1970.

Eva had many jobs over the years.  Her favorites were owning a ceramic shop named E & R Ceramics, being an Avon Lady, and in her later years she was a paper carrier for the Sentinel.  Eva loved knitting, crocheting, gardening, and playing mini-golf with her grandkids.  She often sold baked goods, crafts and vegetables downtown, and at the old Leo's Dairy.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Erhardt Guerth, and her grandson, Aaron Reber.

Surviving are her son Gerald Reber, his wife Wendy and son Nicholas of St. George, UT; her daughter Susan Sheipe, her husband Scott and son Christopher of Newville; and her daughter Debra Soprano, her husband Anthony, son Justin and daughter Courtney, of Colorado Springs, CO; her ex-husband Gerald Reber of Carlisle, her brother Helmut Guerth of Germany and many nieces and nephews.

At Eva's request her remains will be cremated, and there will be no funeral or memorial service.

Her family suggests memorial contributions to the Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090.
