ERMA L. HEISER

Erma L. Heiser, 91, of Carlisle, died Sunday, April 29, 2012 in the Carlisle Regional Medical Center.

Born January 18, 1921 in Guthrie, OK, she was a daughter of the late James and Kate (Baird) Baty.

She was a mother and homemaker and her life revolved around her family.  She held a Bachelor’s degree from Central State University in Edmond, OK and had worked as a substitute teacher in the Carlisle and Cumberland Valley School Districts.

Mrs. Heiser was a member of the Carlisle Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by  sisters Blanche and Eva  Baty and brothers Owen, Loren (Pete) and Clyde Baty.

Surviving are her husband of 66 years:  William J. Heiser; three sons:  Robert O. ( and wife Jennifer) Heiser of Mechanicsburg; Kenneth W. ( and wife Lucinda) Heiser of Mt. Holly Springs; Thomas E. (and wife Martha) Heiser of Richmond,  VA; three sisters:  Linda B. Smith of Shippensburg; Mary L. Spangler of Boiling Springs and Edna B. Yinger of Franklin, TN; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Carlisle Church of Christ,  971 Walnut Bottom Road, Carlisle with Gerald Baty, her nephew, officiating.  Burial will follow in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens.  Viewing will be at the church on Wednesday from 12 Noon until 2:00 p.m.
