DOROTHY M. TRIMMER

Dorothy M. Trimmer, 91, of Carlisle, died Wednesday, June 14, 2011 in Forest Park Health Center, Carlisle.

Born Jan. 15, 1920 in Milton Grove, Lancaster County, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Bertha (Bouder) Becker.  She was the widow of Paul Trimmer, who died Aug. 12, 1995.

Mrs. Trimmer was a self-employed seamstress for many years.  She was a member of Wesleyan Church of the Cross, Carlisle, NARFE, the Wesleyan Women and Sunday School.  She also served many years as a Sunday School teacher and a long time Communion Steward.

Dorothy was a 1937 graduate of Boiling Springs High School where she Valedictorian of her class and played on the girls varsity basketball team.

She was preceded in death by a sister:  Rhoda Stambaugh, two brothers:  Robert Becker and Charles Becker, Jr. and a grandson:  William L. Trimmer.

Surviving are a son:  Paul R. Trimmer of York Springs and two grandsons:  Rick Trimmer and his wife,  Michole and Waylon W. Trimmer and his wife Rachael of Mt. Holly Springs.

Funeral services will be held at   2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 18, 2011 from the Wesleyan Church of the Cross, 430 B Street, Carlisle, with her pastor, the Rev. Daniel R. Mikesell, officiating.  Burial will follow in Baker’s Cemetery.  Viewing will be at the church on Saturday from  1:00 p.m. until time of service.

Memorial contributions may be made to Wesleyan Church of the Cross, 430 B Street, Carlisle, Pa 17013 or to any organization that promotes American freedom.
