CHRISTINE M. BRADY

Christine M. Brady, 81, formerly of 154 Lincoln St., Carlisle, died Thursday, Oct., 13, 2011 in Manor Care Health Services, Carlisle.

Born Oct. 25, 1929 in Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Barry and Carrie (Jackson) Moten and the widow of James Brady, who died July 2, 2001.

Mrs. Brady was retired from the Pennsylvania State University Extension Office where she had worked as a Nutrition Advisor.

She was a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, Carlisle and was involved in the Missionary Circle of  the church.  Additionally, she was instrumental in starting a 4-H club in Carlisle and was involved with the Head Start Program in Carlisle.

She was preceded in death by five brothers and a sister.

Surviving are two daughters:  Phyllis A. Carothers and Jennifer C. Reid, both of Carlisle; three sisters:  Grace Bouie and Nellie Vasser, both of Georgia and Mattie M. Wright of Carlisle; six grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren, and host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, Oct., 21, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. from Bibleway Hibner Memorial Church of God in Christ, 223 Walnut St., Carlisle with the Rev. Dr. Regina  Shearer, Executive Pastor, Zion Church Ministries, Everett, MA, officiating.  Burial will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle.  There will be no public viewing, however, the family will receive relatives and friends from 12 Noon until time of service at the church.

Ronan Funeral Home, 255 York Road, Carlisle, is assisting the family with arrangements.
