BERNEDA B. SNADER

Berneda B. Snader, 97, of Boiling Springs, died Thursday, September 28, 2023 at Chapel Pointe, Carlisle.

Born October 31, 1925 in Pittsburgh, PA, she was the daughter of the late John and Nellie (Holtry) Heckman and the widow of Robert W. Snader, who died November 4, 1997.

She was a life member of the Women’s Auxiliary of VFW Post 8851, Boiling Springs.

During the mid 1970s Mr&Mrs Snader bought a trailer at Bay Shores Campground in Ocean View Delaware where they entertained Family & friends by going fishing, crabbing and clamming. They also spent plenty of time on the beach too. In the mid 1980s they became “semi snowbirds” and bought a trailer at Citrus Park RV resort in Bonita Springs Florida. After Mr. Snader’s passing, Berneda became a full fledged snow bird. She enjoyed playing dominos, cards of all kinds and bingo while soaking up the warm Florida sunshine until  her issues caused her to sell in 2021. While in Florida she was involved in the Red Hat Society and the “Singles Club” of Citrus Park.

Berneda was preceded in death by three brothers:  Ray Heckman, Charles (Tuffy) Heckman and Andy (Jack) Heckman and a sister: Alma Weaver.

Surviving are two sons:  Kirk of Ft. Myers, FL and Alan of Carlisle; a sister:  Freda Myers of Shippensburg as well as three grandchildren:  Shelley Brown of Eagles Pass, CO, Michael Snader of York Main and Logan Snader of Conway, SC, three great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
