Barbara J. Deitch, 90, of Mechanicsburg, passed away on Monday, May 18, 2026 at Specialty Select Hospital, Camp Hill.

Born August 31, 1935 in West Fairview, PA, she was the daughter of the late Sylvester W. And Sarah E. (Smith) Brougher. She was the widow of Charles Deitch, who passed away on October 12, 2022.

Mrs. Deitch was a homamker and assisted her husband with operating the family farm. She had also worked for the Book of the Month Club for many years.

She had been a member of St. Stephen Lutheran Church, New Kingstown. Mrs. Deitch was also a member of the Cumberland County Farm Women and had worked the Election Polls in New Kingstown for many years.

Surviving are her children: Charles Deitch (Susan) of Harrisburg, Chester Deitch (Kathy) of Carlisle, Susan Schoenherr (Tom) of Georgia, Mary Duran of Enola and Pamela Whitman (Michael) of Carlisle. Also surviving are grandchildren: Charles, III, Gretta, Laura, Lisa, Chester, Jr., Samuel, Toni, Bobbi, Ricky, Jesse, Jennifer, Michele and Wendy and 22 great grandchildren and one great great grandson.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2026 at 11:00 AM from the Ronan Funeral Home, 255 York Road, Carlisle. Burial will be in Longsdorf Cemetery. A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 AM until time of service.
