BARBARA J. DAGUE

Barbara J. Dague, 78, of Carlisle, died Tuesday, May 31, 2011 in Carlisle Regional Medical Center.

Born Oct. 19, 1932 in Columbus, OH, she was a daughter of the late Willard and Elva (Spurlock) Dague.

Worked for over 20  years as a waitress for Western Sizzlin in Carlisle.  Her aim during her career was doing her job well and ensuring her customers always had a great experience. She was outspoken, a good listener, and a loyal friend to many who came to know her throughout her life. She loved to share hugs, tell stories, and share good food like gumbo, steak and Thanksgiving dinner with family.

She's lived around the country - including Ohio, Louisiana, California before settling in Pennsylvania in 1982.

After retiring in 2002 at the age of 70, Barb took up her greatest passion full-time: her great grandchildren. Spoiling them and bragging about their achievements were among her favorite pastimes.   She often went by "Granny" or "The Great One" to them. She loved them deeply and found great joy is ensuring they had the things she never did growing up in a working class family in Ohio in the 1930s and 1940s.

Preceded in death by  one brother Willard Dague of Seminole, FL and one son, Daniel Lee Wymer of Columbus, OH.

Surviving are a daughter:  Debra Fisher of Carlisle; a son:  Michael Wymer of Mississippi; Grandchildren:  Gregory Fisher of Carlisle, Serena Fedor of Enola, Clayton Fisher of Danville, PA, Sarah Fisher of Enola, Colleen Leyendecker of Mississippi, Michael Wymer, Jr. of Mississippi and Matthew Wymer of Columbus, OH and Great Grandchildren:  Amber Fisher, Gregory Fisher, Jackson Fedor, Parker Fedor, David Leyendecker, John Leyendecker and Samantha Leyendecker.
