
CLYDE W. WEIDNER, SR.
Clyde W. Weidner, Sr., 80, of 14 Southern Cross Drive, Boiling Springs, died Wednesday, August 23, 2006 in the Sarah A. Todd Memorial Home, Carlisle.
Born March 27, 1926 in Clearfield, Pa, he was a son of the late Frederick P. and Catharine Mumper Weidner of Gettysburg.
He graduated from Clearfield High School in 1945 and Lock Haven University in 1951. He was employed by the Pa Department of Education, retiring in 1988. He was a US Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, having served as a Ball Turret Gunner in the 290th Bomb Group, flying a B-17R.
He was a member of St. Johns Lodge #260 F& AM, Carlisle, Boiling Springs VFW Post 8851 and the Range End Golf Club. He was an avid golfer and fly fisherman and enjoyed attending his grandsons sporting events and spending time with his family.
Surviving are his wife: Mary Louise Weidner; 2 daughters: Catharine Weidner and Jane Weidner, both of Carlisle; a son: Clyde W., Jr. and his wife Kathy J. Weidner of Carlisle; a brother: Frederick P. Weidner and his wife Evelyn of Sarasota, FL and a grandson: Frederick W. L. Weidner and his fiancé Stacey L. Lusaritz of Reading.
Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 A. M. Monday, August 28, 2006 from the Ronan Funeral Home, 255 York Road, Carlisle with Seminarian Susan Williamson officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Gettysburg. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday from 9:30 until time of service.
