BEATRICE VASSER

Beatrice Vasser was born February 17, 1952 in Telfair County, Jacksonville, GA to the late Archie and Selie Studstill. Beatrice rose early and went to bed late, caring for her family. During her early years she attended public schools in Ben Hill County, Fitzgerald, GA where she resided and met her husband of 37 years, Floyd Vasser, Jr. To this union, 4 children were born. Floyd and Beatrice moved their growing family to Carlisle, PA during the cold winter of 1977.

Life ended after fighting a long illness on July 20, 2006 at approximately 8:00 p.m.

Beatrice was a home maker until her children were old enough to start school. At this time she worked several place in Carlisle until she started at the Carlisle Hotel (formerly the Embers Quality Inn and Convention Center) for over 23 years. Beatrice was well known in the Carlisle community as “the lady that walked everywhere”. Beatrice would not accept a ride at any time and loved to walk. She will be sadly missed by her family, friends and co-workers that knew her.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her loving husband of 37 years, Floyd Vasser, Jr.; 4 children: Sharon D. Vassser of Carlisle, PA; Sharea S. Brooks and her husband Galen Brooks, of Dover, DE; Asmara D. Vasser and his wife Krystal T. Vasser of Atlanta, GA; Rwanda T. Vasser of Carlisle, Pa; 11 grandchildren: LaQuinda, LaPricia and LaNajah Hodge; Shenara Bailey, Symone, Galen and Elijah Brooks; DeErikka and Qamari Vasser; Dane Spence, Jr.; 1 great granddaughter: Daijah Burgess.

Beatrice also leaves behind 2 brothers: Samuel and Herbert Studstill; 6 sisters: Catherine Moss, Ethel Clark, Alice Thompson, Carrie Williams, Archie Maye Haynes and Lutrell Studstill and a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws, cousins and loving family members and friends.

Four brothers preceded her in death: Tommy, Johnny, Bobby and John Studstill; 4 sisters-in-law: Agnes King, Elfreida Shirk, Veta Battle and JoAnn Austin.

Funeral services will be held at 2;00 p.m. Sunday, July 23, 2006 from the Harrisburg Masjid, 200 S. 17th Street, Harrisburg. Burial will be in Jacksonville, GA. There will be no public viewing or visitation.

Special acknowledgments to Barbara Felton, the Wright/Perry, Carradine and Stallings families and a dear friend, Carol Morrison.

Words cannot express the gratitude we have in our hearts for the many expressions of sympathy shown during the illness and loss of our loved one. Every act of kindness and the knowledge that others care was a source of comfort. May Allah bless all of you.
