JOAN V. TAYLOR
Joan V. Taylor, 78, a resident of Thornwald Home, Carlisle, for the last 5 1/2 years and formerly of Hampden Twp., died Friday, Nov. 30, 2007 in the home.
Born Aug. 19, 1929 in Carlisle, she was a daughter of the late Albert B. and Stella Mae Brickner Ilgenfritz. She was the widow of William H. Taylor, Sr.
Mrs. Taylor was an antiques dealer and retired in 1990.
She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star; a member and past Queen (1978) of OZEMB Temple #52, Daughters of the Nile. She enjoyed playing cards, especially Pinochle, and after retiring, she belonged to several ladies card clubs. She also enjoyed flea markets and auctions for antique bargains.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a step son: Richard L. Taylor; a daughter in law: Deborah C. Taylor; brother: Albert Ilgenfritz and sister: Jean Webster.
Surviving are a daughter: Michelle Glover and her husband Henry and their daughter Abigail of Smithfield, ME; a son: John Brown of Livingston, TX; a step-son: William H. Taylor, Jr. of Mechanicsburg; a step-daughter: Virginia Ann Livingston of Gettysburg; a sister: Romayne Shank and her husband George, who visited her often during her 5 1/2 years living at Thornwald; and many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Paxtang Cemetery.
