MARTHA F. STUM

Martha F. Stum, 95, of Carlisle, died Sunday, Nov. 19, 2006 in the Carlisle Regional Medical Center.

A daughter of the late Charles and Hattie (Farner) Stum, she was born in Cumberland County on April 9, 1911.

Miss Stum was retired from Lear Corporation, where she was a loom operator and was a member of their 25 year club. She was a member of First Lutheran Church, Carlisle and of the former Katherine von Bora Sunday School Class.

An avid Carlisle High School basketball fan, she loved all sports and enjoyed taking bus trips.

She was preceded in death by 3 brothers: Harold, James and Kenneth Stum and 4 sisters: Mary Ellen Piper, Manelva Erford, Ethel Arbegast and Louella Lear. She was the last of her immediate family.

Surviving are several nieces and nephews and many great and great-great nieces and nephews.

Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2006 from First Lutheran Church, Carlisle, with the Rev. Charles A. Brophy officiating. Burial will be in Westminster Memorial Gardens, North Middleton Twp. Viewing will be at the church on Wednesday from 10:15 until time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Lutheran Church, 100 E. High Street, Carlisle, Pa 17013.
