GLORIA R. NYE

Gloria R. Nye, 78, of Carlisle, died Thursday, Jan. 17, 2008 in Manor Care Health Services, South Middleton Twp.

Born Aug. 30, 1929 in Harrisburg, she was a daughter of the late Raymond and Hazel Wetzel Wonders.

Gloria was a 1946 graduate of Boiling Springs High School and was a former member of St. John Lutheran Church, Boiling Springs.

She had been employed as a clerk at the former G. C. Murphy Co. at the Carlisle Plaza Mall.
She was preceded in death by a brother: James Wonders.

Surviving are two sons: Stanley L. and his wife Mary, of Newville and Stephen R. and his wife Kathy, of Carlisle and three grandchildren: Brad, Zachary and Amy Nye.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, Jan. 21, 2008 from the Ronan Funeral Home, 255 York Road, Carlisle, with the Rev. Michael Mayer officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Monroe Twp. The family invites relatives and friends to attend a reception at Faith Chapel, 1453 Holly Pike, Carlisle, immediately following the interment. There will be no viewing or visitation prior to the funeral service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the South Middleton Twp. Fire Company, 405 Forge Road, Boiling Springs, Pa 17007 or to Heartland Hospice, 1200 Walnut Bottom Road, Carlisle, Pa 17013.
