

PAUL E. ED MENTZER
Paul E. Ed Mentzer, 79, of Carlisle, died Monday, February 5, 2007 in the Carlisle Regional Medical Center.
A son of the late George W. and Mary E. Foose Mentzer, he was born in Carlisle on November 20, 1927.
Mr. Mentzer retired from the former American Can Company in 1984 after 30 years of service as an electrician.
He was a 50 year member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, Carlisle, where he served on the Church Board and was Treasurer for many years and was involved in many church activities serving others. He was also a member of the International Association of Machinists.
His interests included his Harley-Davidson motorcycle and traveling, especially to the West Coast on his Harley. Mr. Mentzer was also an avid hunter.
He served in the US Army Military Police in the Pacific, specifically Hawaii and Guam.
Surviving are his wife: Martha Darr Mentzer; 3 daughters: Betty L. Weigle of Murfreesboro, TN; Beverly M. Harris of Medford, OR and Denise M. Agar of Carlisle; a son: Dale E. Mentzer of Carlisle; a brother: George E. Mentzer of Shermans Dale; 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 8, 2007 in Westminster Memorial Gardens, Carlisle, with his pastor, the Rev. Timothy Keller officiating. Viewing will be private. Military graveside services will be conducted by the Cumberland County Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Building Fund of his church, 237 E. North St. Carlisle, Pa 17013.
