CYNTHIA M. JESTER

Cynthia M. Jester, 56, of Carlisle, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Nov. 25, 2006 from the Hershey Medical Center.

Born August 21, 1950 in Harrisburg, she was a daughter of Mary Kuhnert Merris of Mechanicsburg and the late John B. Merris.

Mrs. Jester had worked for 14 years as a Nurse’s Aid at the Claremont Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Carlisle.

She was a 1968 graduate of Cumberland Valley High School. She served for over 20 years as a Troop Leader and Activity Director for the Girls Scouts of America and was an avid Carlisle High School Marching Band Booster.

A member of the Carlisle Church of Christ, she was the most unselfish of persons, placing the needs of others before her own.

Surviving in addition to her mother are her husband: David L. Jester; 2 daughters: Stephanie Eby and Kelly Jester, both of Carlisle. 4 brothers: Donald Merris of Camp Hill, John Merris of Mechanicsburg, Stephen Merris and Curtis Merris, both of Carlisle; a sister: Melinda Propps of Dillsburg and a grandson: David Eby. Also surviving are numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at 7:00 pm Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2006 from the Carlisle Church of Christ, 971 Walnut Bottom Road, Carlisle, with Kevin Key officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 6-7 pm Tuesday at the church.
