Elsie Adelaide Heyman 1918-2007
Elsie A. Heyman born Elsie Adelaide Liebnitz in Brooklyn, NY on January 18, 1918 passed away on June 23, 2007.
Daughter of George Edwards Liebnitz and Elspeth Main (Bochel) Liebnitz, Scottish immigrants, of Brooklyn. NY and upon their retirement Bergenfield, NJ.
She married Eugene F. Heyman , Sr. on June 22, 1940 and was widowed in 1965.
She is survived by two sons Eugene F. Heyman, Jr. of Boiling Springs, PA and James R. Heyman of Sun City, AZ. Additionally her family included four grand children and seven great grand children.
A 1935 graduate of Grover Cleveland High School in Brooklyn, New York she and her husband were long time residents of Sayville, New York where they worked and raised their family.
She retired from the Sayville Union Free School District in 1973 and spent her retirement years in Plymouth, NH prior to coming to South Middleton Township in 2001.
In New Hampshire she served on the local school board, was a founding member of her church, founded and served on the Board of the Plymouth Senior Center and began the Meals on Wheels and several other senior support programs in the community.
Proud of her Scottish heritage and always full of life, hope and optimism she will be missed by family and friends
She will be buried with her husband and other family at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus, NJ. Burial will be at the discretion of the family
There will be no viewing.
In lieu of flowers the family requests a donation to the Salvation Army in her name.
