
HELEN B. EISENHAUER
Helen B. Eisenhauer, 71, of Mechanicsburg, loving wife, mother and grandmother, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 28, 2006 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born November 24, 1934 in Mechanicsburg, she was a daughter of the late Harry A. and Ruth Shughart Brown. She was the widow of Robert J. Rob Eisenhauer who died May 31, 2005.
A graduate of Mechanicsburg High School, Class of 1952, she was retired from the Mechanicsburg Area School District where she was a secretary at the Broad Street Elementary School for 29 years.
Mrs. Eisenhauer was a lifetime member of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, Boiling Springs (Allen) where she served on Church Council, the Anniversary Committee and was a devoted choir member. Additionally, she was a member of AARP, Pa. Association of School Retirees, Cumberland County Chapter, Friends of the Mechanicsburg Library and was a founder of the Mechanicsburg Girls Softball League. She was a member of Trio Chapter, O.E.S. where she was Worthy Matron in 1984-85. She was also a former Election Judge for Mechanicsburg Boro.
She enjoyed spending time at the beach, collecting seashells, boating, feeding the ducks, gardening, cooking and baking.
She was preceded in death by a sister: Frances Martzall.
She is survived by: a son: Lynn R. Eisenhauer of Leola; a daughter: Cindy E. Poorman of Aurora, CO; 2 sisters: Isabelle Deardorff of York and Edwinnia Fisher of Camp Hill and two grandchildren: Curran and Kelsey Eisenhauer.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2006 at 2:00 pm from Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, 325 Old Stonehouse Road, South, Boiling Springs (Allen) with the Rev. Kathleen G. Coleman officiating. Viewing will be at the Ronan Funeral Home, 255 York Road, Carlisle on Friday evening from 6-8 pm and also at the church on Saturday from 1-2 pm. Eastern Star services will be held at 8 pm Friday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Monroe Township.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Building Fund of her church, 325 Old Stonehouse Road, South, Boiling Springs, 17007 or the Pinnacle Health Hospice, 3705 Elmwood Avenue, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
