

C. WILLIAM GEIMAN
C. William Geiman, 86, of Carlisle, died Wednesday, February 20, 2008 in the Claremont Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Carlisle.
A son of the late Melvin G., Sr. and Emma Wissler Geiman, he was born September 21, 1921 in Chambersburg.
Mr. Geiman was a graduate of Shippensburg University and received his Masters degree from Penn State.
A retired English teacher for the South Middleton School District with 35 years of service, he taught all grades from 7-12 but especially enjoyed teaching the 8th grade. He served as yearbook advisor for many years and also directed several school theatrical productions.
He was a US Navy veteran of W.W.II; a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Carlisle and its Sunday School. He joined the Chancel Choir of the church at age 79 and often said that choir practice was the highlight of his week. Mr. Geiman was a guest Sunday School teacher in many rural churches.
He and his wife recruited and led tours to the Holy Land and also to the Passion Plays in Oberammergau, Germany.
He was preceded in death by two brothers: the Rev. Melvin Geiman of York and James Geiman of Chambersburg and two sisters: Jeanette Peters and Nancy Neil, both of Chambersburg.
Surviving are his wife of 60 years: Rosalyn (Rose) Myers Geiman; a daughter: Jerrilyn G. Mercado of Elyria, OH; three sons: Jeffrey W. Geiman of Rociada, NM; Jon L. Geiman of Carlisle and Timothy M. Geiman of Glendora, CA; and a brother: Thomas Geiman of Chambersburg; nine grandchildren and one great grandson.
Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 1, 2008 from Grace United Methodist Church, corner of S. West and Pomfret Streets, Carlisle with Pastor Edward T. DAgostino officiating. A reception will immediately follow the service and burial will then follow in Norland Cemetery, Chambersburg. Viewings will be at the Ronan Funeral Home, 255 York Road, Carlisle, on Friday, Feb. 29, 2008 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and also at the church from 1:00-2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
