GLENN A. KURTZ

Glenn A. Kurtz, 73, of Mechanicsburg, died Thursday, Oct. 26, 2006 in the Holy Spirit Hospital.

Born Sept. 11, 1933 in Shirleysburg, Pa, he was a son of the late Paul A. and Grace Wakefield Kurtz. He was the widower of Elizabeth I. “Betsy” Kurtz who died Jan. 23, 2004.

Mr. Kurtz was retired from the Defense Distribution Depot Susquehanna, New Cumberland, where he was a carpenter.

He was a 1951 graduate of Captain Jack High School, Mt. Union, and was a member of American Legion Post #26, Dillsburg. He enjoyed hunting and woodworking.

Surviving are a son: John A. Kurtz and his wife Denise W. and a granddaughter: Amanda Kurtz, of Mechanicsburg; a brother: Richard and his wife Shirley of New Bloomfield; 3 sisters: Eva and her husband Richard Lenker of Mechanicsburg, Donna Hoffmaster of Marysville and Catherine Arnold of Mapleton Depot (who survived him by several hours and died Friday, Oct. 27, 2006); sisters-in-law: Nancy Gibb and Joann, wife of Charles “Mike” Keefer, both of Mechanicsburg; Mary Taylor of Carlisle and several special nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm Monday, October 30, 2006 from the Ronan Funeral Home, 255 York Road, Carlisle, with the Rev. Kathleen G. Coleman officiating. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Mechanicsburg. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday from 12:30 pm until time of services.
