MARY H. DITLOW

The most Sacred Heart of Jesus called her name: “Mary” on March 7, 2007 and said, “come to me.” He embraces her now for all eternity with his unconditional love. “You are mine.” Mary’s spirit was lifted to the Lord after an extended illness at Carlisle Regional Medical Center, Carlisle, Pa.

During her lifetime, Mary Hadley (Bertram) Ditlow, worked at Textile Industries for the W.W.II needs and W. T. Grant of Shillington, Pa until retirement. A devoted wife to Richard J. Ditlow, Sr., “her sweetheart”, mother to Dr. Richard J. Ditlow, Jr.; mother in law to Linda (Hoop) Ditlow, grandmother to Theresa Joy Ditlow, RIchard J. Ditlow, III (Rick) and Johnathan Vincent Ditlow. She enjoyed her extended family dearly as well , with many celebrations amongst the nephews and nieces. She prayed daily from scriptures and enjoyed teaching Bible School to many young people

She was ecumenical in spirit, having unity of faith in the Lutheran and Catholic Church. She resided with her son, Dr., Richard and Lynn Ditlow and grandchildren. She faithfully participated at the Eucharistic celebrations at St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church in Carlisle, Pa.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents: Mary Hadley and Raymond Bertram, brother Francis Bertram, sister Sarah K. (Bertram) Aschenbrenner and grandchildren, Gregory St John Ditlow, and Juliana Ditlow.

In addition to her son, daughter in law and grandchildren, Mary is survived by her sister in law; Fern A. (Westley) Bertram, and nephews: Skip Aschenbrenner and wife Diane, Raymond Bertram and wife Barbara and Donald Bertram and many grand and great grand nephews and nieces.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 10, 2007 from the Ronan Funeral Home, 255 York Road, Carlisle. Burial will be in Laureldale Cemetery, near Reading. Viewing will be at the funeral home on Saturday from 9:30 until time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, 51 Seminary Ave, Reading, Pa 19605.
