THOMAS R. CLAPSADL
Thomas R. Clapsadl, 86, of Boiling Springs, died Sunday, Jan. 15, 2006 at home.
Born Dec. 23, 1919 in Chambersburg he was the only child of the late Joseph and Grace Group Clapsadl.
Mr. Clapsadl was a US Army veteran of World War II, having served in the 32nd Infantry Division in the Pacific. He had also served in the Pa National Guard Troop E prior to World War II.
He was retired from The Carnation Company and had also worked at Dauphin Oil Co. in Carlisle for many years.
Additionally, he was a graduate of Chambersburg High School, was an avid fisherman and was a member of VFW Post 477, Carlisle and Teamsters Local 776.
Surviving are his wife of 65 years: Gladys J. Stumbaugh Clapsadl; a son: Larry R. Clapsadl of Camp Hill and a daughter: Roberta S. Keefer of Mechanicsburg; 5 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and 6 step great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, Jan. 19, 2006 from the Ronan Funeral Home, 255 York Road, Carlisle, with his grand daughter, the Rev. Aileen A. Robbins, officiating. Burial will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle, where VFW Post 7530 will provide military honors. Viewing will be at the funeral home on Thursday from 10-11 am.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to Hospice of Central Pa, P O Box 266, Enola, Pa 17025.
